Derek Felder joins the Paladin basketball program this year as an assistant varsity coach and Head JV coach. He graduated and played for South Plantation. He also played at Dillard High School for two years and won a state championship in 2002.
After high school, Coach Derek went on to play basketball for at Glenville College in West Virginia. At Glenville, Coach Derek was team captain for two seasons and was asked to join the coaching staff immediately after graduating. Coach Derek was responsible for the development of big men and recruitment.
Coming back home to his roots and family was very important to Coach Derek. Thats why he has dedicated his time to helping develop basketball players at the middle and high school level. Coach Derek’s main goal is to help make South Plantation one of the premier programs in Broward County.
